Another Week Flown By.

Image
Well, well, well, we are back again.  Welcome back to another blog, another day, another week absolutely flown by.  Now when I tell you this week was adventure week , im not joking at all. Oh my goodness was this a week of exploring and bonding with my fellow interns. We only have one week left together which will be sad because of the amazing community, how quickly I have learned so much spanish being around them so much, lessons for life, growing in faith, and all of the above. They have been such a blessing to be around and I am so glad that God blessed me with these amazing new friends who I can hopefully stay connected to. This is also a new season though, I have been telling people. God has a plan and since I have been isolated here and been able to have a lot of alone time(which is completely different from the immense friends and community I had at home) which I have enjoyed very much and have continued to seek God in those moments learned that sometimes its good to be...

Already October 13??

Image
Hello Everyone Once more.  Crazy to think that it is already halfway through october. Ive been staying busy so the days feel so long but sometimes I will be just looking back like wow that flew.  Anyways welcome back for those who do keep coming back I love you guys do it all for yall so I appreciate keeping up to date with me.  Now where did we leave off. Oh yeah. Last Tuesday. Man was that a day. So full of adventure and fun. I was able to for the first time drive into Quito with my mentor Elliot whom I have mentioned before. Now that was an experience itself never seeing a true true city here before it was cool to experience that. There was this huge park right in the middle of the city kind of like New York but not nearly as big lol. Elliot was telling me they are so good at keeping public places clean in order to maintain things which i think is a very good thing. Anyways, the reason we were going anyways was because the first taco bell was opening in Ecuador and if ...

A Month In

Image
Well Hello there again.  Now where did we leave off, oh yeah, last saturday.  Very good day we ended up partaking in some basketball in town with the other interns and my mentor Elliot whom some of you probably know from chapelstreet or before. Crazy to think ive already been here for a month. Actually starting to get into a good routine with sleep and classes, facilitating, church, etc. Settling in even more realizing that this is going to be my home for a year (dang). Sad though because cordada (the other interns) is almost over in 2/3 weeks and then im going to be all alone for the rest of my time here. They have helped me grow a lot in my spanish, faith, cooking, cleaning, washing clothes, etc. All the fun adulting things you get to do when you grow up and live on your own.  Next up is Sunday. I think they do a great job on sundays here. I have been learning a lot about sabbath and how important it actually is and how God calls us to rest in it through the book I have...

Settling In

Image
Hello my people again, I know you all have been eagerly sitting at your phone waiting for a new blog (everyone say thank you to mrs cooper shes pretty awesome) so here it is.  Much different from before definitely way more settled into a routine and life with the other interns. Thank you to the Lord for that without your help and prayer would have never been the case so thank you.  Anyways, starting from where we left off. Im going to try and do this more often like possibly once a week because I really want to remember fully what happened and share with you guys without going back into my photos 300 times lol. Well after I did my last blog I did something which we call here descalzo time. Which just means shoeless time. It is an extended period of time that we take to spend with God by ourselves in nature. This has been worked into our schedule a lot lately and have been so impactful for me. After my blog I went and did this time and man did it really hit me hard. I found mys...

#4: Primero Semana (1st Week)

Image
Welcome back all, Currently sitting in the upper room named after the upper room in which Jesus sat with his disciples in Spanish. Well I wish I could say the first week was absolutely perfect and everything was amazing, but it definitely was not. The thing about getting better though is in the first week I have already learned soooo much. Obviously Spanish(lol) but also in my faith and my walk with the Lord. I really struggled the first couple days with my mindset and getting out of the "I don't wanna be here I just want to be back home with everyone I'm comfortable with". But I have learned a lot through that mindset. A lot of the stuff we have been doing has been about changing your mindset and stepping out of our zone of comfort into a zone of challenges they call it here. How are you supposed to learn if you aren't challenged and you always feel perfectly comfortable where you are? That is something I have been thinking about. Through my 13 hours of training ...

#3: More Preparation

Hello All, Just wanted to update yall on the journey even though its still very very new. I won’t be posting like everyday on here but I definitely will try and keep everyone updated. Just said bye to loved ones and friends and am currently sitting in the Atlanta airport waiting for my layover to be over(its super long). Lots of prayer and emotional stress have gone into these last couple days leading up to the actual departure. Leaving family, friends, girlfriend, trying to navigate sadness but also looking forward to what Gods plan is for my life and all of the above of growing older as a fresh adult. I really just wanted to open up about how I really feel about the trip and hopefully this can help others out. I felt God so strongly the past year now to take this step and journey towards ecuador and a gap year in the missions field, but i also want to stress how not easy that is. That has been the hardest part of this journey is fully submitting myself to what God has planned fo...

# 2: Preparing For The Journey

Image
Hello Friends, I’m excited you have decided to join me on this journey as I prepare to follow God’s calling and step into a new chapter of my life. This isn’t just a mission trip, it’s also a significant personal milestone. I recently turned 18, and this will be my first time leaving home, stepping into adulthood, and learning what it means to fully depend on the Lord. I’d love for you to stay connected and walk with me through this season, as I seek to serve others in the way Jesus did, both during His time on earth and how He continues to lead us today. Right now, I’m in the final stages of preparation, and your support would mean so much. I’m still in need of a bit more funding to complete my visa process, which is necessary for me to stay in Ecuador for the duration of my trip. If you feel led to give or know someone who can help, whether it’s a little or a lot, every amount is a blessing. And if financial support isn’t possible, your prayers are just as powerful and deeply appreci...
